About

Most people have killed a plant. Some have killed a lot of them, and somewhere along the way, many decided that growing things just wasn't for them. That they didn't have the touch, the time, or whatever mysterious quality it takes to keep something alive.

We started Dead Plant Club for those people.

Not because failure is funny, though sometimes it is, but because we believe the real barrier to growing things isn't talent or knowledge. It's permission. Permission to try without judgement. To experiment without embarassment. To start over without feeling like you've already proven something about yourself. The moment people stop worrying about doing it wrong is usually the moment they start to actually enjoy it.

Plants do more than make a home look better. They give us something to tend, something to share, and something to look forward to. They slow us down in ways that feel increasingly rare, and over time, quietly and almost without noticing, they build confidence. We think more people deserve that, not just those who already feel like they belong in the plant world.

For a long time, the green industry has done its job well: quality products, solid expertise, customers who already know what they want. But there's a much larger group of people who feel like growing things isn't meant for them, and too few are doing anything to change that. We think that's worth fixing.

We're building something different, where the language, the guidance, and the community all say the same thing: you belong here. Showing up as a beginner isn't a liability, it's the whole point.

We care deeply about design and experience, and about the way people feel from the first moment to long after. Our measure of success is simple: how do people feel after spending time with us?

We hope they feel welcomed. We hope they feel capable. And most of all, we hope they come away with permission to try and try again.
